The EC120B type rating entitles the holder to fly the EC120B helicopter as pilot-in-command.

The training consists of twenty hours of classroom instruction and five hours of flight training on an EC120B helicopter.

During the training, participants will acquire theoretical and practical knowledge for flying the EC120B helicopter. The flight training component includes practice in various maneuvers during level flight, circling, landing, and takeoff. Special emphasis is placed on handling emergencies and special situations.
