The EC135 type rating qualifies the holder to fly as pilot-in-command of a multi-engine EC135 helicopter in a single-pilot crew.

The training consists of 56 hours of ground school and 9 hours of flight training on an EC135 helicopter, or 7 hours of flight training on a simulator and 4 hours of flight training on an EC135 helicopter.

During the training, participants will acquire theoretical and practical knowledge for flying the twin-engine EC135 helicopter. Flight training includes practice in various maneuvers during level flight, circling, landing, and takeoff. Special emphasis is placed on handling emergencies and special situations.
