The Robinson R66 type rating qualifies the holder to fly the R66 helicopter as pilot-in-command.

The training consists of nine hours of classroom instruction and five hours of flight training on an R66 helicopter.

During the training, participants will acquire theoretical and practical knowledge for flying the R66 helicopter. The flight training component includes practice in various maneuvers during level flight, circling, landing, and takeoff. Special emphasis is placed on handling emergencies and special situations.
